Carry out the measurement with all the emission control devices activated and at the recommended idle speed.

Insert the sensor of a suitable exhaust gas analyzer at least 30 cm into the end of the exhaust pipe.

If the shape of the end section of the exhaust pipe is such that the sensor cannot be fully introduced, a special extension pipe which guarantees the seal in the join area must be added.

Wait until the exhaust gas analyzer pointers settle down.With the engine idling (840 50 rpm), check that the CO content is within the recommended limits.
