) Ensure that the ignition key is in the OFF position, then disconnect the negative battery terminal (-).

Proceed with removal - 1016A40 ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r .1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the right Lambda sensor.

2. Disconnect the electrical supply connection for the air conditioning compressor.

3. Disconnect the electrical connection for the left Lambda sensor.

1. Disconnect the electrical connections from the ignition coils.

2. Release the electrical wiring from the fastenings on the tappet cover.3. Undo the bolt (3a) and disconnect the earth lead (3b) from the ignition coils support plate.

1. Disconnect the covers for the high tension leads (1a) from the spark plugs using the tool (1b).

1. Undo the bolts fixing the ignition coil support plate.2. Pull the plate (2a), complete with ignition coils (2b), upwards.

At the bench, undo the bolts and separate the ignition coils from the plate.

All ignition coils are the same and are interchangeable provided the correct cap is fitted to the large spark plug (cylinder 1 and 2) and the small spark plug (cylinder 3 and 4).

Refitting ( Removing

) Place the plate, complete with ignition coils, back in its housing.Tighten the blts fixing the ignition coils support plate.Connect the high tension lead covers to the spark plugs.Connect the earth lead to the ignition coils support plate and secure it using the bolt.Secure the electrical wiring to the fastenings on the tappet cover.Connect the electrical connections to the ignition coils.Connect the electrical connection for the left Lambda sensor.Connect the electrical supply connection for the air conditioning compressor.Connect the electrical connection for the right Lambda sensor.Proceed with refitting - 1016A40 ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r .Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.
