3026058 - 1064BC Variable geometry turbocharger actuator leakage test
Visually inspect that whilst the engine
is being started (key in START position) the turbocharger actuator
connecting rod (turbine stator vane positioning device) moves by
about 10 mm in the direction of the actuator.CHECK WITH EXAMINERWith the engine switched off, connect connector EX09 with transducer
EX06 to the section of pipe between the actuator and the solenoid
valve. In the instrument environment, select the intake pressure measurement
pressure gauge.Start the engine and let it idle, then wait until the pressure
level stabilizes. The pressure reading should be between 450 and 500 mmHg (Phase
3 1910 engines). The graphic acquisition of the pressure can be made by selecting
the scale 2000 or 4000 mmHg.
