) Position the vehicle on the rampProceed with removal - 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r . Proceed with removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r . Proceed with removal - 1084A16 oil dip stick pipe - r r . 1. Undo the plug and drain the engine oil.

Collect the engine oil in a suitable container. Engine oil contains substances harmful to the environment. Discard these substances in containers designed for their disposal.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (1b).

1. Undo the nuts fixing the front section of the exhaust pipe to the catalytic pre-converter. 2. Undo the nuts fixing the front section of the exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter. 3. Remove the front exhaust pipe section complete with seals.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and the nuts (1b) fixing the catalytic preconverter mounting bracket.

1. Loosen the collar (1a) and remove the catalytic preconverter (1b).2. Keep the catalytic preconverter mounting bracket.

1. Loosen the band and disconnect the condensation oil recovery pipe from the crankcase sump. 2. Disconnect the electrical connection for the engine oil level sensor.

3. Undo the bolt securing the intermediate drive shaft mounting to the crankcase oil sump. 4. Undo the bolts fixing the manual gearbox and differential to the cylinder block/crankcase.

1. Undo the front and rear bolts (1a) securing the crankcase sump using tool (1b).

2. Undo the side bolts (2a) securing the crankcase sump using tool (2b).

3. Use the tool to cut the crankcase sump sealant.

4. Remove the crankcase sump.

Refitting ( Removing

) Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces of crankcase sump and cylinder block of sealant residues. Apply silicone sealant around the edge of the crankcase sump. 1. Refit the crankcase sump.

When fitting the crankcase sump, avoid major sideways movements which may remove the sealant.

2. Tighten the side bolts (2a) for the crankcase sump to the recommended torque using the tool (2b).

3. Tighten the front and rear bolts (3a) for the crankcase sump to the recommended torque using the tool (3b).

1. Tighten the bolts securing the manual gearbox with differential to the crankcase to the specified torque.

2. Tighten the bolt securing the intermediate drive shaft mounting to the oil sump. 3. Connect the electrical connection for the engine oil level sensor. 4. Connect the condensation oil recovery pipe to the crankcase sump and tighten the band.

Place the catalytic preconverter complete with mounting back in its housing and fasten it to the turbocharger using the collar. Tighten the bolts and the nuts fixing the catalytic preconverter mounting bracket. 1. Place the front section of the exhaust pipe with gaskets back in its housing. 2. Tighten the nuts securing the exhaust pipe front section to the catalytic converter to the specified torque.

3. Tighten the nuts fixing the front section of the exhaust pipe to the catalytic preconverter to the recommended torque.

Place the lower exhaust manifold heat shield back in its housing and fix it using the bolts. Place a new engine oil drain plug, complete with new gasket, back in its housing and tighten it to the recommended torque.

Proceed with refitting - 1084A16 oil dip stick pipe - r rRefill the engine oil lubrication system - 0010T11 engine oil check level and top up .Proceed with refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r rProceed with refitting - 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + rRemove the car from the ramps.
