1. Tighten the two bolts fixing the timing side rigid support to the crankcase without positioning the third fastening on the cylinder head.

FOR VERSIONS WITH AIR CONDITIONING    Op. 1048A69 RIGID PIPE BETWEEN AIR FILTER AND THROTTLE CASING WITH BUILT IN RESONATOR - R.R Position a suitable container for collecting the coolant.1. Open the fastening band (1a) and disconnect the radiator coolant supply pipe (1b).
1. Open the fastening bands (1a) and disconnect the two heater coolant supply and return pipes (1b).
1. Open the fastening band (1a) and disconnect the coolant recirculation pipe (1b) from the throttle casing.
1. Disconnect the electrical connection (1a) for the engine management control unit and the coupling (1b).

Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Fit a new cylinder head gasket.
1. Position the cylinder head on the cylinder block/crankcase.2. Tighten the new fixing bolts to the recommended torque, following the order illustrated in the diagram.

Undo the two bolts fixing the timing side rigid support to the crankcase without positioning the third fastening on the cylinder head.
1. Remove the timing side rigid support.
1. Fit the shield (1a) and connect the timing sensor electrical connection (1b).
