1. Using a suitable spanner (1a) discharge the tension for the toothed timing drive belt rotating the moving tensioner (1b) in a clockwise direction until the ordinary tool (1d) can be inserted in the opening (1c) and the tensioner locked.Mark the direction of rotation of the toothed timing drive belt.2. Remove the toothed timing belt.

1. Rotate the camshafts and align the references (1a) and (1b) (cylinder 1 at TDC in the explosion stroke).2. Rotate the crankshaft and place the reference (2a) on the toothed drive pulley in line with the reference (2b) on the oil pump module (cylinder 1 at TDC in the explosion stroke).3. Using a suitable spanner (3a) rotate the moving tensioner (3b) in a clockwise direction until the ordinary tool (3d) can be inserted in the opening (3c) and the tensioner locked.Check the condition of the toothed timing drive belt and replace it, if necessary.4. Fit the toohted timing drive belt in place taking care not to move the references on the camshafts and on the crankshaft. | If the toothed timing drive belt is reused, fit it in accordance with the direction of rotation marked on the removal. |
| Rotate the crankshaft through 720° and check that the timing references are aligned, if this is not the case, remove the belt and repeat the timing operation. |
