192005532 - S017 FRONT SUSPENSION NOISE (WHISTLING/HUMMING)

Whilst driving, especially on unmade roads, there are whistling type noises coming from the front suspension. This fault diagnosis can only be carried out after the See table S015 VEHICLE RUNNING NOISE . Carry out the latter first.

If the problem is only on one side, carry out the checks and any necessary operations on the appropriate side only

1	SHOCK ABSORBER STEM CHECK	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check that the noise is not due to friction between the shock absorber stem and the seal, by getting underneath the vehicle on a trolley	End of diagnosis	Friction is noticed	Lubricate the stem with a layer of silicon grease. If the noise persists, replace the shock absorber Op. 4450A12)
