3362375 - 0010T84 COOLANT FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - DEHYDRATE AND REPRESSURIZE

Follow the safety instructions (    Op. 5040 AIR CONDITIONING CASING AND COMPONENTS).

1. Use the special draining/repressurizing equipment. Let the engine run with the air conditioning switched on for 10 - 15 minutes.Undo the repressurizing valve plugs.Before attaching the connectors to the needle valves, move the knurled ring nut upwards.Connect the high pressure connecting pipe to the corresponding red coloured rapid attachment valve.Connect the low pressure connecting pipe to the corresponding blue coloured rapid attachment valve.

For improved safety, the rapid attachment connectors for the equipment connection pipes have different diameters and are different colours: the one for the low pressure side is larger and blue and the one for the high pressure side is smaller and red.

Start the procedure for draining the coolant fluid, following the instructions in the equipment manual.1. Whilst draining the system, the fluid removed from the compressor should be collected in a special container.

The fluid is extremely hygroscopic: avoid leaving the containers open.

Refill the system with the same amount of recommended fluid shown on the container.

If certain components are replaced, the following quantities of fluid must be added for each of the components replaced:Pipes: 5 cm ³ /mEvaporator: 40 cm ³Condenser with built in filter: 50 cm ³Compressor: Transfer the compressor fluid that should be replaced into a graduated test tube. Repeat this operation on the new compressor transferring the fluid into another test tube. Refill the new compressor with the same amount of fluid as was removed from the old one.

If the DENSO SCSB06 type compressor, fitted on the 1.2 16v version, is being replaced, do NOT carry out the procedure described above, but simply replace the old compressor with a new one without transferring fluid between the two compressors.

Start the coolant fluid repressuring procedure, following the instructions in the equipment manual.Introduce the recommended quantity of coolant fluid.

In the case of damage to the compressor or other system components followed prolonged exposure to the air of the pipes (more than 6 hours), the system ''WASHING'' procedure has to be carried out, proceeding as follows.Clean the pipes connected to the compressor using an air line.

Use filtered air to prevent the introduction of foreign bodies into the system.

Connect the (now drained) system to the repressurizing equipment.Introduce the recommended quantity of coolant fluid at the high pressure side.Recover the coolant fluid from the low pressure side.Repeat the introduction and recover the fluid.Proceed with the system draining and repressurizing operations as described previously.

If the system is being washed, the entire amount of fluid in the system is eliminated.

Refill the system with the same amount of recommended fluid shown on the container.
