Removing ( Refitting ) Place the car on a lift.    Op. 5530B52 BATTERY SUPPORT/DRIP TRAY - R.RPosition a suitable container to collect the coolant.1. Disconnect upper sleeve (1a) and lower sleeve (1b) on the radiator side by removing collars (1c).
1. Disconnect the evaporation control system pipe.2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the intake air temperature/pressure sensor.

1. Prise out pipe (1a) of brake servo vacuum pump (1b) and release from the retaining clip.
1. Disconnect electrical connections (1a) from injection control unit (1b) by operating the levers (1c).

2. Undo the fixing bolt (2a) and disconnect the control unit earth lead (2b).

3. Release control unit wiring (3a) from collar (3b).
1. Remove collar (1a) on thermostat (1b) and disconnect the pipe carrying coolant to radiator (1c).
1. Open collar (1c) and disconnect oil vapour recovery pipe (1b).
1. Disconnect throttle body actuator electrical connector (1a) and coolant temperature sensor electrical connector (1b).

Release the engine electrical wiring from the retaining clip housed beneath the intake manifold unit working from underneath the vehicle.1. Disconnect the electrical connection from the fuel vapour recovery solenoid (1a) and the supply connector to injectors (1b).

1. Undo the bolt on the upper head (1a) and the bolts fixing the lower head (1b) and remove the intake manifold unit.
1. Undo the bolts (1a) fixing the plugs for the spark plugs (1b) and remove them.2. Disconnect the electrical connection for the cam angle sensor.

3. Unscrew the spark plugs and remove.4. Undo the protective caps (4a) and the bolts fixing the camshaft housing (4b) removing the latter from their housings.5. Lift the head extension slightly and fit the tappet retaining tool.

Remove the single head extension and recover the underlying gasket. Refitting ( Removing ) Replace the gasket and fit the single head extension using the tappet retaining tool; once the camshaft housing is in position, remove the tool.

Tighten the single cylinder head extension fixing bolts to torque.

Tighten the spark plugs to torque.

Fasten the spark plug connection plugs using the bolts.Connect the electrical connector for the cam angle sensor.

Connect the fuel vapour flow enablement solenoid electrical connection.

Connect the oil vapour inlet pipes and fix them using the bands.Connect the pipe carrying coolant to the heater on the thermostat and secure with a collar.Secure the injection control unit wiring to to the collars.Connect the earth lead to the injection control unit.
