3360114 - 1080D CRANKCASE VAPOUR/GAS RECIRCULATION SYSTEM

CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

Whilst the engine is operating the oil vapours and gases that escape through the piston seals into the crankcase are collected in a special system.

OPERATION

A portion of the oil vapours condense and fall into the crankcase. The remaining vapours are directed to the intake via pipes (2) and (5).When idling, oil vapours flow through pipe (5). At higher loads, they flow through pipe (2). There is a spark out (1) in the pipe (2) to prevent combustion due to possible flame returns from the throttle casing (4).
