Disconnect the electrical connector for
the fan motor resistance unit.
Position the Examiner diagnostic
equipment in the 'instrument' ambient (ohmmeter mode).Connect one of the Examiner diagnostic equipment
probes to earth.Connect the remaining probe to pin 1 of
the electrical connector for the resistance unit and turn the selector
to the first speed, checking that the resistance measured is 0O. Connect the remaining probe to pin 2 of
the electrical connector for the resistance unit and turn the selector
to the second speed, checking that the resistance measured is 0O.Connect the remaining probe to pin 3 of
the electrical connector for the resistance unit and turn the selector
to the third speed, checking that the resistance measured is 0O.Connect the remaining probe to pin 4 of
the electrical connector for the resistance unit and turn the selector
to the fourth speed, checking that the resistance measured is 0O.
