3362365 - 0010T20 ENGINE COOLANT - CHANGE

Drain the engine cooling system by carrying out the operations listed below.
Do not remove the tank cap when the engine is hot as there is a risk of scalding.
1. Undo the expansion tank cap.Position a suitable container for collecting the engine coolant underneath the radiator.2. Disconnect the lower radiator hose and drain the engine coolant into the container.
Engine coolant is harmful to paintwork; avoid any contact with painted surfaces.
3. Open the bleed on the radiator.4. Open the bleed on the heater coolant pipe5. Open the bleed on the pump rigid coolant pipe and wait until the cooling system has drained completely.
Refill the engine cooling system by carrying out the operations listed below.Take a suitable quantity of coolant.Use the same fluid for vehicles with blue coloured Paraflù 11.

Use the same fluid for vehicles with red coloured Paraflù UP.

-Fluid (l)ENGINE COOLING CIRCUITPARAFLU UP7
NEVER mix the two fluids, always use the same type of fluid as is in the vehicle.
1. Connect the lower engine radiator pipe and secure it using a new band.Introduce the coolant slowly into the reservoir taking care to keep the level as close as possible to the MIN reference until the fluid comes out of the bleed on the radiator.2. Tighten and close the bleed on the radiator.3. Continue the refilling operation and tighten the bleed on the pipe to the heater as soon as engine coolant fluid comes out.4. Continue the refilling operation and tighten the bleed on the pump rigid coolant supply pipe as soon as engine coolant fluid comes out.End the operation of the refilling the engine coolant as soon as the MAX level is reached.5. Close the expansion tank cap.Start up the engine and let it idle for at least 2 to 3 minutes.Carry out periodic, gradual accelerations (every 30 seconds) until the engine reaches about 3/4 of the maximum power speed continuing refilling, if necessary, until the MAX level is reached. This operation should be carried out until the engine cooling fan comes on for the first time.Keep the engine idling for 5 minutes.Make sure that hot air comes out of the passenger compartment vents.Stop the engine and wait until the coolant has cooled down.Check that the level of the engine coolant is between the MIN and MAX marks on the expansion tank.If necessary, top up the level, undoing the cap and introducing engine coolant.
The amount of fluid introduced should correspond to at least the amount collected when the circuit was drained; if this is not the case, top up and repeat the bleeding procedure.
If the coolant starts to boil whilst the engine is being started up, switch off the engine and search for the defective component.
Never exceed the MAX level
