192004666 - E7018 PASSIVE ENTRY - DESCRIPTION (Station Wagon)

Description

The Passive-Entry and Easy-Go system allows the management of the vehicle protection, entry into the passenger compartment and engine starting. The system described for access to the passenger compartment and engine starting that allows the customer to enter the vehicle and start up the engine without using the key, simply by carrying a CID.When the driver approaches the locked vehicle with their CID (e.g. in their pocket), pulls the handle and the system automatically recognizes them, unlocking the doors and switching off the alarm.Once seated in the driver''s seat, the driver presses a button in the dashboard and the system enables engine starting by recognizing the CID.To exit, press the button again and the engine is switched off.    E7065 BLOCCASTERZO ELETTRICO.Having left the vehicle, the driver can lock the doors and switch the alarm on by pressing a button in the exterior handles or, if it has been set previously, the system automatically locks the vehicle after the CID moves away (e.g. in the driver''s pocket). The entire usage cycle for the vehicle consequently takes place without the need to use a key, either for opening/closing the vehicle (remote control function) or for switching the engine on/off (ignition key function). In addition to the control unit - connected to the CAN - the system also comprises a special device known as a CID (Customer Identification Device) which replaces the normal key and remote control.Like the key it contains a transponder with the codes for the CODE system programmed and a battery to supply the Alarm/Central Locking remote control transmitter. There are 3 buttons inthe CID for locking, unlocking and opening the boot. There is also an emergency mechanical key in case the Easy-Go system is not working and for activating/deactivating the passenger Air Bag module.
this key does not allow the vehicle to be started up.
There is no longer an ignition lock barrel in the vehicle but a button in the dashboard for the key on and key off and starting the vehicle. As there is no longer a mechanical key, the steering lock function is achived electrically by means of a unit integrated with an electronic control unit connected to the CAN.

The door/boot handles are also slightly different to normal; they have 2 switches and are capable of carrying out 2 types of manoeuvre starting from a stable position:

  • HANDLE PULLING: the handle can be pulled towards the outside opening the door.
  • HANDLE PRESSING: the handle can be pressed inwards controlling the locking of the locks (NOTE the boot also works like a door)
The search for the CID for opening the doors takes place by means of 5 external aerials, the one for the starting enablement takes place by means of 3 internal aerials. The RF remote control is also used for the door opening/closing signal
It is possible that the moment the starting knob is turned the system is not capable of recognizing the CID becase it is not working or because the CID battery is run down. In this case the CID should be placed in the garage position, i.e. on the old immobilizer aerial located in the centre console.
At the key on the aerial is supplied the same way as for the conventional Code and the magnetic field produced "activates" the transponder in the CID which, if recognized, enables starting. For more details    See descriptions 5505A MULTI-FUNCTION COMPONENTSand Descriptions and Operation 5580E ANTI-THEFT DEVICE .
