Refitting ( Removing

) 1. Unscrew the retaining bolts2. Remove the automatic belt tensioner.

1. Fit the new alternator drive belt on the compressor drive pulley, and position the tool (1a) complete with extension (1b) in the alternator pulley seating; bring the sleeve of the tool under the Poly-V belt (1c), lower the bridge, and turning the tool 180 degrees in the direction indicated by the arrow (1d), fit the belt on the alternator pulley.

Always replace the belt with a new one, and the POLY-V belts adapt to the transmission; changing these conditions means that a new belt has to be fitted.

Do not allow oil or solvents to come into contact with the belt, as these could affect the flexibility of the rubber, resulting in reduced grip. Also check that there are no cracks or cuts on the belt, otherwise it will have to be replaced.

Fit the automatic belt tensioning device for the compressor drive belt.
