Removing ( Refitting ) Check if any of the connected parts are deformed by checking body alignment dimensions. Use appropriate measurement tools (reference rigs, templates or gauges).Straighten the body if necessary.
Open the bonnet.1. Undo the front bolts fixing the wing.2. Unscrew the lower wing retaining bolts.3. Undo the rear bolt fixing the wing.
Trim the sealant using a special vibrating knife and blade.1. Undo the upper bolt (1a) fixing the wing and reduce the spot welds (1b) using a suitable drill and chamfering machine.2. Undo the upper bolt (2a) fixing the wing and reduce the spot welds (1b) using a suitable drill.3. Undo the wing lower fixing bolt.4. Detach the wing using a suitable hammer and chisel.Use a grinding wheel to remove the spot weld residues.Straighten the edges of the panel.Apply electro-galvanizing paint to the areas which have been ground.
Refitting ( Removing ) Clean off residues of old sealant and PVC using a vibrating cutter and appropriate blade.Position the wing on the car and secure it provisionally using the retaining bolts.Lower the bonnet lid and close the front door. Check the door is aligned and that the gap around the edge is even.Paint the wing in accordance with the specified procedure.1. Position the wing on the vehicle.2. Screw in the fixing bolts without tightening them.Align the wing checking the edges with the door and the bonnet.Fully tighten the wing retaining bolts.3. Use a spot welder to weld the areas shown in the figure.4. Fill weld the areas shown in the diagram.Use a grinding wheel to remove the spot weld residues.
1. Screw in the remaining bolts fixing the wing without tightening them.Apply sealant to the area indicated (use the specified cycle).Reapply PVC treatment to the areas indicated (use the specified cycle).
