The climate control is working normally but there is excessive noise coming from the engine compartment.

Check that the quantity of gas in the system is correct.Disconnect the services belt and check whether the noise disappears.Check whether the noise only occurs with the engine switched off.

Restore the correct refilling of the climate control system Op. 0010T84 COOLANT FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - DEHYDRATE AND REPRESSURIZE

The noise disappears when the services belt is disconnected

Continue as instructed in theSee table S20 GEARBOX/ DIFFERENTIAL UNIT NOISY GENERAL

The noise only occurs with the vehicle stationary

Check that it is not coming from the fan or the water pump or the alternator

The noise does not disappear

Renew the belt and move on to Step 1

CHECK ON FASTENING OF PIPES AND COMPONENTS

All OK

Operation

Check that the system pipes and components are correctly fastened. In order:

fastening of compressor to crossmember
fastening of pipes (by bands and spacers)
no interference between pipes and other components in the engine compartment

Restore the correct layout of the pipes

COMPRESSOR FASTENINGS CHECK

All OK

Problems encountered

Operation

Check whether the compressor magnetic coupling shows signs of overheating. If it does, replace the compressor, if it does not, check for interference between the mangetic coupling moving plate and the pulley. Check for any sliding of the magnetic coupling plate. Check the wear of the pulley bearing with the compressor switched off by rotating the moving plate in both directions of rotation.
