1. Check that the reference lug (1a), in the drive pulley, is opposite the engine rpm sensor (1b).
1. Loosen the nut fixing the moving tensioner (1a) and rmeove the timing belt (1b).
Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Remove the electrical connections for the spark plugs.2. Remove the spark plugs.3. Tighten the tool in the housing for the spark plugs for cylinders 1 and 2.

4. Rotate the crankshaft in its normal direction of rotation, using small movements, until the surface (4a) on the moving part of the tool is aligned with the fixed plane (4b) of the tool. When both tools positioned in the spark plug housings are in this condition, the pistons will be in line, i.e. halfway through their stoke and the piston for cylinder 1 will be descending, i.e. in the inlet stroke.
Rotate the crankshaft gradually to prevent the pin for the tools being expelled by the piston compression.
1. Use the tool (1a) and loosen the fixing bolt (1b) for the camshaft driven pulley.

1. Raise the vehicle and fit the timing belt (1a) working in an anti-clockwise direction starting from the drive pulley (1b).
Use a suitable tool so that the moving tensioner is in the maximum tension position.Lower the lift and remove the tools used previously for timing and locking the camshaft and timing the crankshaft.

Rotate the crankshaft through two revolutions in its normal direction of rotation.1. Loosen the nut (1a) fixing the moving tensioner and, using a suitable tool, act on the slot (1b) in the tensioner so that the moving reference (1c) coincides with the fixed reference (1d).
Rotate the crankshaft through two revolutions in its normal direction of rotation, the position the tools for aligning the pistons and timing the camshafts for a final check on the engine timing.
