Place the camshaft housing in the vice.1. Tighten the fixing bolts (1a) and remove the timing side protective cover (1b).
1. Undo the fixing nuts (1a) and remove the rear cover (1b) sealing the camshafts, flywheel side.
1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and remove the rear timing gears (1b).
The tools for timing the camshafts are also used to undo the bolts fixing the rear gears.

1. Remove the camshafts.
Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Undo the tapered plugs.
Check the condition of the plugs and, if necessary, replace them. If the old ones are refitted, replace the seals.
Tighten the tapered plugs.
