Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the connecting rod caps (1b) complete with lower half-bearings (1c) for cylinders 1 and 4. 1. Withdraw and remove the 1st and 4th cylinder pistons (1a) with connecting rods (1b) and upper connecting rod half bearings. Work in the same way to remove the pistons and connecting rods for cylinders 2 and 3. Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Fit the 2nd and 3rd cylinder pistons (1a) with connecting rods (1b) and upper connecting rod half bearings (1c) using a suitable tool (1d).

The pistons and connecting rods should be fitted in the crankcase with the arrow stamped near the connecting rod bearing seat or on the piston crown, indicating the direction of rotation of the engine, facing the inlet side.

Fit the connecting rod caps complete with the half-bearings for cylinders no. 2 and 3 and secure them tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

Fit the connecting rods so that the number stamped on each rod faces towardt he same side as the number stamped on the connecting rods.
