Removing ( Refitting ) 1. Remove the valve guides (1b) using the drift (1a).

Refitting ( Removing ) Measure the valve guide bore checking that it is within the recommended values.

If necessary, ream the valve guide seat.Check the measurement of the new valve guide.Make a note of the measurement of the valve guide seat after reaming.Valve guides are available as spares with the following diameters and oversizes.

Also bear in mind that the interference between the valve guides and the bore in the cylinder head should be within the recommended values.

Before fitting the new valve guides the cylinder head must be heated to a temperature of around 80° - 100 °C.1. Fit the new valve guide (1a) using the drift (1b).

Ream the valve guide inner diameter using a suitable reamer.Check that the inner diameter of the valve guide and the clearance after refacing between it and the valve are within specified values, otherwise replace the valve guide.
