Removing ( Refitting )  - 4410A10  l/h or r/h front suspension spring/damper unit (one) - r+r - check wheel geometry separately if necessary1. Position the shock absorber (1a) on the pneumatic spring compressor (1b).

Using the pneumatic tool, compress the shock absorber spring.1. Undo the upper mounting nut (1a), locking the shock absorber stem (1b).Release the spring and withdraw the spring-shock absorber components.
Refitting ( Removing ) During refitting, proceed as follows:
Before refitting, check that the spring does not show cracks or deformations which would impair its reliability.
Refit the front shock absorber assembly components in their seats and compress the spring using the pneumatic spring compressor.

Screw up the top mounting nut without tightening, keeping the shock absorber strut locked.Remove the front shock absorber from the pneumatic tool.
Follow these instructions for replacing the shock absorbers; if the mileage for the shock absorbers is below 20,000-25,000 km, then one shock absorber only need be replaced, as long as the new one is the same type and after having checked that the other shock absorber is in perfect working order; - if the mileage for the shock absorbers is above 20-25,000 km, always replace both shock absorbers on the same axle, taking care to fit shock absorbers of the same type.
