Refitting ( Removing )
Before removing and refitting the control unit the following preliminary operations must be carried out.
- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and extract it.- Disconnect the negative and positive battery terminals and insulate them.- Wait for 10 minutes before continuing.

FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS    Op. 5580C AIR BAG SYSTEM
Removing ( Refitting ) 1. Working on the engine compartment upper crossmember, unscrew bolt (1a) and release reference pin (1b). Remove the deceleration sensor from its seat.
1. Disconnect the electrical connection (1a) and remove the deceleration sensor for Air Bag sensor (1b) from the vehicle.

Refitting ( Removing ) - Check that the Air Bag deceleration sensor is not damaged.- Connect the electrical connection to the Air Bag deceleration sensor.

- Position the deceleration sensor for the Air Bag correctly in its housing, attaching the reference pin, screw in the fixing bolt and tighten it to the recommended torque.
