194001998 - J004 BACK WINDOW WIPER NOT WORKING

With the ignition ON, when the lever on the right of the steering wheel is operated, the rearscreen wipers do not work properly, but the rearscreen washer does work
0PRELIMINARY CHECKSALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
With the panel off, check that the pin is correctly fastened to the arm carrier by lifting the wiper blades up.Move on to Step 1The arm is not correctly secured (nut defective or not correctly tightened).Replace and/or tighten the nut to torque.
1REARSCREEN WIPER FUSE CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the condition of the rearscreen wiper fuseMove on to Step 2The rearscreen wiper fuse is broken.Replace the rearscreen wiper fuse (and find out what could have caused it to blow).
2VEHICLE WIRING CONNECTIONS CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Following the procedure,    Op. 7015A04 TAILGATE INTERIOR PANEL - R+Rremove the protective panel on the rear tailgate and check the condition of the vehicle wiring connector and make sure it is correctly fitted in the rearscreen wiper socket.Move on to Step 31.Connector damaged.1. Replace the connector.
2.Connector not correctly inserted.2. Restore correct connection.
3CHECK ON TENSION AT WIRING TERMINALSALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Disconnect the connector from the rearscreen wiper and access the panel and select the various functions using the steering column switch unit checking the voltage at the wiring termiansl (correct voltage is the battery voltage 13.5 V).Move on to Step 41. The voltage measured is not correct (the wiring is broken)1. Restore the correct connections or replace the steering column switch unit.
2. The voltage measured is the same as that of the battery (rearscreen wiper defective)2. Move on to Step 5.
3. Stalk unit not working properly.3. Move on to Step 7.
4REARSCREEN WIPER MOTOR POWER SUPPLY CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the following, in order:

  • motor earth connection;
  • motor connection with steering column switch unit
