Removing ( Refitting )     Op. 7210B82 R.R REAR CROSSMEMBER- Check that the components connected are not distorted by checking the bodyshell alignment measurements using suitable equipment (gauges, templates or jigs).- Straighten the body as necessary.
1. Use the hack saw following the dotted cutting lines in the diagram.2. Remove the rear trim offcut from the vehicle.
- Use the warm air blower and the steel brush to remove the underbody protection.- Use the rotary brush to remove the paint to gain access to the spot welds.1. Use the chamfering machine to remove the spot welds shown in the diagram.2. Remove the rear trim offcut from the vehicle.
- Straighten the edges of the body using a mallet and profiled block.- Use a rotary brush to clean the areas treated previously.1. Apply electro-galvanizing paint.
- Working at the bench, remove the rustproofing using a rotary brush on the inside and outside of the points on the part shown in the figure.1. Apply electro-weldable paint to the edges treated previously.
Refitting ( Removing ) - Position the replacement part correctly on the vehicle and secure it using self-locking clamps.- Tack the part with a few spot welds and remove the self-locking clamps.- Fit the tail-gate and seal provisionally.- Check the part is perfectly aligned and the surrounding gap is even.- Remove the components used for adjustment.1. Use a spot welder in the areas shown in the diagram.
- Correct any distortions to the panel using a profiled block and mallet.- Use a disc grinder to clean and level the areas previously involved in the welding.- Use a rotary brush to clean the areas treated previously.1. Apply anti-oxidant protection to the areas involved in the welding.- Seal the join lines between the replacement part and the vehicle.- Apply underbody protection.- Proceed with the painting stage.2. Apply wax protection.
