194002310 - 0010T44 CHANGE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUIDS (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION)

Changing the automatic transmission fluid is not a planned maintenance operation and is only carried out during removing-refitting operations that involve draining the automatic transmission fluid.

- Position the vehicle on a lift.    Op. 7055B54 UNDER ENGINE PROTECTION/GUARD - R.R.1. Unscrew the automatic transmission fluid drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely into a suitable container.

Do not let the oil disperse into the environment as indiscriminate dispersion of this product causes pollution.

- Fit the engine oil drain plug in its housing complete with new O-ring and tighten it to the recommended torque.

1. Undo the bolt (1a) and remove the automatic transmission fluid dipstick (1b).- Refill the automatic gearbox with the recommended fluid and in the recommended quantity via the opening in the dipstick.- Place the automatic transmission fluid dipstick in its housing and secure it tightening the bolt to the recommended torque.

- Check the automatic transmission fluid level working as described below.- Place the vehicle in a horizontal position.- Place the gear selector lever from position P to D and then back to P again.- Start up the engine and let it idle.- Using the Examiner, check that temperature of the fluid is 70° - 80°C.1. Undo the bolt (1a) and using the dipstick (1b) check that the level of the automatic transmission fluid is between the hot splinings.- If necessary, top up with the recommended fluid following the instructions given previously.- Place the automatic transmission fluid dipstick in its housing and secure it tightening the bolt to the recommended torque.
