SPECIFICATIONS

The vehicle has two compartment covers: the bonnet and the fuel filler flap. The bonnet consists of an outer cover assembled on a support frame. Layers of sealant are applied between the covering and the frame which, in addition to limiting vibrations also increase the strength of the assembly. The fuel filler flap is made of plastic which is painted to match to the colour of the bodywork. It is kept closed and unlocked by means of an electrically activated motorized device. In emergencies (e.g. electrical system failure) the flap can be unlocked by pulling a special cord. To access this cord the cover inside the luggage compartment on the right hand side must be removed manually.

7025A BONNET LID

The bonnet lid, produced through traditional pressing processes, has a frame which has pre-established collapse lines. this safety feature, together with specific retaining hooks, prevents the cover from penetrating the windscreen in the case of an impact. The cover has a preformed panel on the inside made from a sound absorbing material which is designed to improve the comfort of the occupants by reducing the acoustic emissions towards the passenger compartment and the exterior of the vehicle. To lower aerodynamic noise still further, there are two seals on the front support edge of the windscreen base trim and on the inner rear part of the bonnet. To complete the seal of the air intake compartment, thereby insulating it from the engine compartment, there are preformed mountings, made from a foam material, at the sides of the windscreen base trim, that prevent the access of flows of air coming from the actual engine compartment.Opening and closing the bonnet takes place by means of a single, central lock that incorporates a lever which, if pulled, release the safety hook and a bonnet opening switch that is useful for the alarm function. The lock is opened by means of a bowden cable operated by a lever in the lower side part of the dashboard, by the driver''s running board. There is a support rod along the front crossmember that, released from its own securing device and fitted in the housing in the cover, allows the bonnet to remain raised.View of bonnet lid components
