The M.I.L. warning light remains on with the engine running

the M.I.L. warning light is switched on by means of an earth command from the Engine Management Node.

1	CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment to the diagnostic connector and check that there are no faults at the Engine Management Node	Move on to Step 2	Presence of faults in the system	Proceed as instructed by the diagnostic tester
2	CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Keeping the diagnostic equipment connected to the diagnostic socket and check the operation of the engine failure warning light through active diagnosis at the Engine Management Node	Move on to Step 6	The warning light does not flash	Move on to Step 3
3	WARNING LIGHT OPERATION CHECK	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Disconnect the Engine Management Node from the vehicle side wiring and check that the warning light goes out	Move on to Step 6	The warning light does not go out	Move on to Step 4

	Check the insulation of the warning light control cable between the Engine Management Node and the Instrument Panel Node    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT	Move on to Step 5	Cable short circuited to earth	Restore the electrical connections.
