STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Turn the ignition key OFF.connect the cable loom connector to the accelerator pedal potentiometerTurn the ignition key ON.Select the following system on the diagnostic equipment: Diesel EDC16C39 electronic injection system.Check that error P0641 – Power supply to sensors 1 is “Present”.Move on to Step 5Move on to Step 2
2Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector ATurn the ignition key ON.Check that the voltage between pin 9 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITand the earth is greater than 0.3 V.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the accelerator pedal potentiometer and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
3Check that the voltage between pin 30 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITand the earth is greater than 0.3 V.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the accelerator pedal potentiometer and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
4Replace the accelerator pedal    Op. 1068A20 ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH BUILT-IN POTENTIOMETER - R.Rand check the fault has disappeared.The test can be considered overRepair the original accelerator pedal and replace the engine management control unit.    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - .R
5Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the cable loom connector from the timing sensor.Turn the ignition key ON.Select the following system on the diagnostic equipment: Diesel EDC16C39 electronic injection system.Check that error P0641 – Power supply to sensors 1 is “Present”.Replace the timing sensorOp. 5510C30 ENGINE TIMING SENSOR - R+R
6Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector ATurn the ignition key ON.Check that the voltage between pin 45 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITand the earth is greater than 0.3 V.Move on to Step 8Move on to Step 7
7If faults are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the accelerator pedal potentiometer.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENTReplace the wiring if necessaryThe test can be considered overReplace the accelerator pedal    Op. 1068A20 ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH BUILT-IN POTENTIOMETER - R.R
8Turn the ignition key OFF.Check that the voltage between pin 30 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITand the earth is more than 500 kOhm.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the accelerator pedal potentiometer and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
9Disconnect the cable loom connector from engine management control unit connector BTurn the ignition key ON.Check that the voltage between pin 11 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITand the earth is greater than 0.3 V.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the timing sensor and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
10Turn the ignition key OFF.Check that the voltage between pin 11 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITand the earth is more than 500 kOhm.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the timing sensor and the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
