194003950 - 5040AB REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT CHECK

Do not check the air conditioning system in the immediate vicinity of the walls (distance of approximately 2 m) in order to ensure sufficient circulation of the air by the condenser.
CHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Connect the air conditioning system repressurizing station.Start up the engine and keep it idling.Set the required passenger compartment temperature to COLD (turn anticlockwise to stop).Set the fan to 4th speed.Switch on the air conditioning (LED on snowflake symbol on).Take the reading from the high pressure gauge and ensure it is greater than 13 barsMove on to Step 4
2Check the cooling fan is on.Move on to Step 4Move on to Step 3
3Turn the ignition key ON.With the engine off, perform active diagnosis on the cooling fan and ensure it is successfulRestore the electrical connections between the fan and the engine management control unit    See E5020 ENGINE COOLINGIf necessary, replace the fan    Op. 1088E10 RADIATOR COOLING FAN - R + R
Before draining the air conditioning system, check the coolant circuit to ensure there are no leaks    Op. 0010T84 COOLANT FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - DEHYDRATE AND REPRESSURIZECheck the connection to the expansion valve in particular.
CHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
4Turn the ignition key OFF.Drain, empty and charge the air conditioning system with the specified amount of coolant.    Op. 0010T84 COOLANT FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - DEHYDRATE AND REPRESSURIZERun the engine for 15 minutes with the bonnet lid closed.Switch on the air conditioning (LED on snowflake symbol on).Set the required passenger compartment temperature to COLD (turn anticlockwise to stop).Adjust the air distribution to passenger head ventilation.Make sure that the recirculation is switched off.Increase the engine rpm up to 1500 rpm for 5 minutes.Take the reading from the high pressure gauge and ensure it is within the range between 9 and 36 barsMove on to Step 6
5Take the reading from the low pressure gauge and ensure it is outside the range between 1.7 and 2.2 barsThe test can be considered overMove on to Step 6
6Take the readings from the high and low pressure gauges and ensure the pressure difference is at least 5 bars.Replace the air conditioning compressor    Op. 5040A20 AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR - R+R - INCLUDES FLUID LEVEL CHECK AND TOP UP IF NECESSARY
7Check that the coolant circuit is not blocked with ice or dirtyClean the coolant circuit. If necessary, replace the faulty components    Op. 5040A AIR CONDITIONING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT
8Replace the expansion valve    Op. 5040B30 EXPANSION VALVE (TUBE ORIFICE) - R+R
