194002551 - 5580PO CONNECT POWER SUPPLY CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Check power supply (+15)

  • With the ignition ON, check that the correct battery voltage is present between pins 4 and 8 of the 8-way Connect connector and earth.

  • Check that the connector is correctly inserted in the other part.

  • Try to move it from its seat by making small movements in all directions, grasping the connector body in your fingers and the wiring in your hand. The connector must stay in place

  • Exercise a moderate pulling force. The connector must stay in place

  • check whether the power supply goes off, goes on and/or vice versa (touching/not touching)

  • subject the cable to a pulling force and check cable stability (no shrinkage): exercise repeated pull-push-pull cycles on the lead and ensure its immobility.
Examine the crimping:

  • Use a lens to examine the terminal crimping area. The barrels must be turned symmetrically and three-stranded sections should not emerge from the criming area. The area of bare wire beneath the barrel must emerge by approximately 0.5 mm

  • Replace the 7.5A fuse F 49 located in the CPL, after identifying the cause

  • Restore the wiring if defective
2Check the earthDisconnect 8-way connector A and connect an ohmmeter accross pin 8 and earth and check the resistance is lower than 1 ohmRestore the correct earth connection between pin 8 and the earth point in the right dashboard area
3Check power supply +30

  • Check that the correct battery voltage is present between pins 7 and 8 of the 8-way Connect connector and earth.

  • Check the wiring continuity

  • Replace the 15A fuse F 23 located in the CVM, after identifying the cause

  • Restore the wiring if defective
4Check fuse

  • Check the condition of the fuse located at the back of the Connect.

  • If burnt out, search for the cause of the problem and replace it.
5Check action of protection

  • Disconnect Connector 8-way connector B. Turn the Connect off and on. Check whether one of the components (CD Changer, amplifier, sound boxes, etc.) is causing the radio fuse to blow.

  • Replace defective speakers

  • Replace the defective amplifier
Op. 5570T95 SUBWOOFER WITH AMPLIFIER BUILT INTO SOUND SYSTEM - R.R.

  • Replace the CD Changer
    Op. 5570T85 CD/AUDIO PLAYER LOADER - R R

  • If none of the above steps has highlighted problems with the signals and the Connect continues not to switch on then it is defective.
