194003955 - 5510CG CHECK TIMING SENSOR OPERATION

STEP	CHECK TO BE PERFORMED	RESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1	Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the cable loom connector from the timing sensorTurn the ignition key ON.Check that the voltage between pin 1 of the sensor    See K047 TIMING SENSORand earth is between 4.8 and 5.2 V	Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the timing sensor and the engine management control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
2	Check that the voltage between pin 1 and 3 of the sensor    See K047 TIMING SENSORis between 4.8 and 5.2 VMove on to Step 4	Move on to Step 3
3	Repair any faults in the wiring between the engine management control unit and the timing sensor    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENTThe test can be considered over	Replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - .R
4	Check that the voltage between pin 2 of the sensor    See K047 TIMING SENSORand earth is between 4.8 and 5.2 V	Move on to Step 3
5	Check for faults in the timing sensor, such as intermittent contacts, missing teeth, reference point or incorrect gap	Restore correct operation.Replace the timing sensor if necessary    Op. 1060G22 CAM ANGLE SENSOR - R.R
6	Replace the timing sensor    Op. 1060G22 CAM ANGLE SENSOR - R.Rand check the fault has disappeared.The test can be considered over	Repair the original timing sensor and replace the engine management control unit.    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - .R
