194002313 - 0010T82 DIESEL SYSTEM - BLEED WATER FROM DIESEL FILTER RESEVOIR

If the instrument panel signals the presence of water in the fuel filter, bleed the system as soon as possible.
- Carry out a key on without starting the engine.
This operation is designed to pressurize the fuel filter.
- Lift up the fuel filter from its housing to gain access to the bleed cap.- Place a suitable container underneath the fuel filter.- Undo the bleed plug.
This action should be carried out gradually taking care to check that the amount of fluid expelled is between 75cc and 85cc.
- Then close the bleed plug without using excessive force.- Examine the fluid expelled: if there is water and there are no obvious traces of diesel fuel, repeat the bleeding.- If there are traces of diesel fuel, repeating the bleeding will confirm that there is no longer any water in the fuel filter.- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.- Dry the fuel filter, place it in its housing and check, after having run the engine for about a minute, that there are no leaks in the lower part.
