194001366 - E2510 COURTESY LIGHTS - DESCRIPTION

The front courtesy light includes three lamps with three control switches:- the corresponding spot light can be switched on using external switches;- the centre switch can be used to switch the centre light on or off and the switching on is also subject to a delay timer as described below. The side rear courtesy lights, each fitted with a single bulb, can be turned on or off by operating the relevant switch, or by a timer, as described below. The front courtesy light is managed by the Body Computer while the rear lights are controlled by the door control units. The timing is managed by the Body Computer via the CAN network in accordance with the following strategy:- when any front or rear door is opened, a courtesy light timer is operated for 3 minutes, reactivated each time the door is opened;- when all the doors are closed: with key-OFF, the 3 minute timer is zeroed and a 10 second timer is activated. With key-ON, the courtesy lights are turned off immediately;- when the key is removed from the ignition, the courtesy lights come on for a timed 10 second period;- when the doors are opened (from the remote control, driver and passenger door catch or the FIS), the courtesy lights come on for a timed period of 10 seconds. This is interrupted if the ignition switch is turned ON;- when the door is locked (from the remote control or driver and passenger door catch), all the courtesy lights go off;- when the inertia switch (FIS) is activated, the courtesy lights are turned on for 15 minutes. If the FIS is reset, the courtesy lights go off.The courtesy lights must turn on and off simultaneously if more than one courtesy light is involved and gradually (dimmer) with a 2 second duration cycle. The dimmer time of 2 seconds is always aded to the times described, for both switching on and switching off. Gradual activation/deactivation should never be interrupted under any circumstances (even when another door is opened, by a key-ON, etc.).Front and rear courtesy light activation is also managed by a rocker switch on the front courtesy light, in particular:- with the courtesy lights off, both are turned on;- with the courtesy lights on, both are turned off (even with the FIS active). In the event of timed courtesy light activation upon door opening, pressing the key on the front courtesy light turns off the interior lights and resets the current timer. With the key OFF or removed, a 10 second timer is activated upon closure of all the doors. When the button on the front courtesy light is operated, the courtesy light timer lasts 15 minutes with the key OFF or removed. No timing takes place with the key ON.The front and rear spot lights are activated by a local control and timed for 15 minutes if activated with the key OFF. They are not timed if they are activated with the key ON. Activation/deactivation from a local command does not involve a dimmer.Direct control of the rear spot lights takes precedence over an on/off command from a door opening operation or a button on the front courtesy light. If the spotlights are turned on indirectly, pressing the local key turns off the bulb until the next direct or indirect command is received. The power supply to all the courtesy lights is governed by a battery voltage control logic (known as “SBMT”): the Body Computer continuously acquires the battery voltage signal and compares it with its own limit value. With the ignition OFF or key out (STOP), a 15 minute timer starts when any of the doors or the boot is opened. The lights are deactivated after this time limit.
