The car is equipped with numerous light sources for optimal lighting of interior instruments and controls.Some of these are light under Key-on conditions (INT), others with the side lights on. Others are dimmable in accordance with a rheostat-controlled adjustment strategy managed by the Body Computer.When the ignition key is turned ON (INT), the following controls are lit:- Hazard warning lights control- Controls on tunnel- Left control panel- Manual air conditioner controls.With the ignition ON (INT) enablement and side light command signals, the Body Computer manages the lighting of:- cigar lighter and rear current socket;- radio wiring;- phone wiring.A "+ light" signal is also sent to the electrochrome interior mirror.    See E3032 DOOR MIRROR ADJUSTMENTThe Body Computer manages (directly or via the driver and passenger side door control units and the boot compartment control unit), the dimmed lighting of:- the instrument panel and display;- the radio or Connect Nav+ display;- the automatic climate control system display;- the radio controls on the steering wheel (where present);- the control unit on the driver''s door- the window switches on the remaining doors.The light intensity can be adjusted to different levels by means of two external keys located in the left control panel. Up to 8 different levels are possible.The brightness level set by pressing the “MODE +” and “MODE -” keys is shown on the instrument panel display. This value is sent via the CAN network so that the information is made available to other nodes.Once set, this value is stored and used again.
The light intensity cannot be reduced to zero and the instrument panel indicator/fault warning lights cannot be adjusted or dimmed.
The lighting brightness level supplied via the CAN network to the rado or Connect Nav+ and to the automatic climate control system can be used to increase or dim the display backlighting: it can be adjusted from maximum brightness (daytime) to a dimmed setting with the side lights on (night-time) according to the customer''s needs.
