194001462 - E3045 BOOT AND FUEL FLAP OPENING - DESCRIPTION

The boot opening geared motor (boot "release") is operated via the remote control in two ways.- indepedently of the doors: there is a special button on the remote control that allows the boot only to be "unlocked": the boot is released and lifts up slightly. The operation is indicated by the turn signals flashing twice.
in this way the unlocking of the doors leaves the boot locked.
- Together and at the same time as the unlocking of the doors: the rear tailgate is to all intents and purposes considered as a fifth door and is subject to the central locking system. For more details on the control logic,    See E3040 CENTRAL LOCKINGThe two modes described above can be selected using a special setup in the instrument panelWhen the boot is closed, it is aligned to the status of the vehicle (unlocked with doors unlocked, locked with doors locked) by the set up in the NQS: in this case, with the option activated, it returns to locked when it is closed again. The tailgate (after being unlocked) can only be opened from the outside of the vehicle using the opening handle. The boot opening function is disabled (the tailgate does not open) if the speed of the vehicle exceeds 10 km/h (this is to prevent undesired opening whilst driving caused, for example, by vibrations of the exterior handle over very bumpy roads). The boot opening circuit is protected by a specific fuse, located in the junction unit under the dashboard. The remote control receiver aerial is inside the ignition device (TEG Reader). The fuel flap is managed directly by the driver''s door control unit and is therefore connected to the locked/unlocked status of the driver''s door.
