The electric windows for the front doors are operated through the switches on the driver''s door (both windows) and the passenger side (passenger side only).The control units in the door control the operation of the driver''s and passenger side electric window motors which are operated both manually and automatically.Automatic operation takes place as follows:- if the button is pressed is between 50 and 300 milliseconds (short press), operation is manual. the glass goes up/down only with the key pressed;- if the key is pressed for longer than 300 milliseconds (long press), operation is automatic: even if the button is released, the glass continues to move up/down until the end of travel position is reached or until the intervention of the anti-crush safety system (if fitted);- pressing the button again whilst the window is moving stops it in the position it is in;- if the button is pressed for less than 50 milliseconds, this is ignored (it is treated as an accidental knock).Each control unit in the door also manages the anti-crush safety function: It acquires information of the possible presence of an obstacle whilst the window is closing (upwards movement, two resistive sensors inside the electric window motor which if an obstacle is encountered when the window is closing immediately interrupt the travel and reverse the direction).The anti-crush safety function is activated during both manual and automatic operation.If the control units in the door detect the presence of an obstacle in the "inversion zone" whilst the window is moving upwards, they should:- interrupt the upwards movement and reverse it immediately in a total time of 30ms.- revers the direction of the window which should reach a position corresponding to an opening of at least 200 mm from the upper edge or at least 50 mm higher than the initial starting position of the window.- ignore any type of closing or opening command during the entire reversal time.If the control units in the door detect the presence of an obstacle in the "non inversion zone" they should only interrupt the upwards movement of the window.The correct operation of the anti-crush sensor is controlled by the control unit check function: in the case of a failure this information is sent via the CAN to the instrument panel to light up the general failure warning light and show the information on the display. In addition, if there is a failure the control units should inhibit the upwards movement of the window in automatic mode.The windows are automatically opened or closed through the special prolonged (more than 2 seconds) command sent by the remote control button.The remote control receiver aerial is inside the ignition device (TEG Reader).The circuit is operated according to the door control units control logic with a power supply protected by two special fuses operated by the underdashboard junction unit services relay: The electric window function can only be activated with the ignition ON (INT) except when the windows are closed/opened centrally via remote control and during the timed period with key off.During the starting stage, this relay is temporarily deactivated, whilst with the ignition OFF, the Body Computer keeps the relay activated for 2 minutes, but deactivates it 30 seconds after one of the doors is opened.The driver''s door control unit acquires both the commands for the driver''s front door and those for the passenger door; it manages the movement of the driver''s window directly and transmits the movement commands, via the CAN, for the passenger window to the passenger door control unit which manages the passenger side window directly.The passenger door cotnrol unit only acquires the commands for the front passenger door and controls its own motor directly.
