194001487 - E3070 CIGAR LIGHTER/CURRENT SOCKET - DESCRIPTION

On the tunnel console, next to the handbrake, there is a standard type current socket which can be used for connecting the diagnostic equipment or equipment working at 12 V. The socket has a ring nut that is lit up when the side lights are on.    See E2530 INSTRUMENT LIGHTINGThere is a second current socket, on the tunnel console, towards the rear seats, similar to the previous one.The sockets are equipped with a thermal protection device: this protection cuts off the power supply if devices that absorb a lot of energy are connected. In order to be able to use the FIX & GO rapid repair kit (a device that needs a high current absorption) a change in the section of the connecting leads to the current sockets on the vehicle is anticipated.
The rear current socket (behind the tunnel console) is the only one that should be used when the FIX & GO kit has to be used.
The circuit for the two current sockets in the console is protected by two specific fuses and controlled by the ignition-operated exclusion relay located in the junction unit under the dashboard. To prevent the battery from being drained, these sockets only work with the ignition ON (INT/A).For versions equipped with the FIX & GO kit on the other hand, the circuit for the current sockets is protected by a single fuse located in the junction unit under the dashboard. The cigar lighter resistance can be located in the front socket in the console; simply press the knob to operate it: after a few seconds it will come out automatically, ready for use. This resistance is only available on request, in a "smokers kit" comprising, in addition to the cigar lighter, a removable ashtray in the shape of a cup that can be closed to be fitted in the cup holder.
