194001512 - E3080 HEADLIGHT ALIGNMENT ADJUSTMENT - DESCRIPTION

The adjustment of the light beam for the headlamps depending on the load is produced using the adjustment device located directly on the headlamps. This device, controlled by a button in the panel to the left of the steering wheel, tilts the headlamp parabola appropriately in order to lower the light beam if the vehicle is particularly laden and raise it when the load conditions decrease. The device is enabled only with the dipped beams on.There are four predefined positions for the headlamp alignment (from 0 to 3). These four positions are produced by adjusting the top part of the headlamp alignment switch to direct the light beam upwards (positions 3, 2, 1, 0) and the bottom part to move it downwards (positions 0, 1, 2, 3); the setting is memorized and shown on the instrument panel display. If there is a fault in the system the headlamps assume a configuration which avoids the oncoming drivers from being dazzled.
