194001518 - E3080 HEADLIGHT ALIGNMENT ADJUSTMENT - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION (XENON GAS HEADLAMPS)

The dipped headlights activation signal is sent to pin 2 of connector I of the Body Computer M001 from the steering column switch unit.    See E2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPSThe Body Computer M001, from pin 8 connector F, controls the power supply for the dipped headlamps sending an earth signal to relay T1 inside the junction unit under the dashboard B002 - pin 8 connector E.Pin 87 of relay T1 supplies the dipped headlamps F010 and F011 at pin 1 via fuses F13 and F12.Both electronic systems inside the headlamps F010 and F011 are supplied - pin 9 - from the INT line protected by fuse F37 of junction unit B002.Pins 12 of the control units inside the headlamps F010 and F011 are connected to one another by means of a special serial line, whilst the pin 10 of the control unit located in headlamp F010 receives the speedometer signal from the Body Computer M001 (pin 28 of connector B).The headlamp alignment control unit M073 is incorporated in the headlamp F010 and the two potentiometer sensors that detect the position at the front K001 and at the rear K002 are connected. On the basis of the signals receives, the headlamp electronics automatically adjust the direction of the light beam by means of a special motor. The control units inside the headlamps provide their own diagnostic signal used for the continuous monitoring of the entire device.    See E8010 DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR
