194001718 - E7020 ABS - OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION

The ABS M051 electronic control unit is supplied from the battery, pin 12 for the electronics and pin 25 for the solenoids, respectively by lines protected by maxifuses F5 and F4 of engine compartment junction unit B001.The ignition-operated power supply (INT from the steering lock control unit) reaches pin 23 from a line protected by fuse F42 of underfacia control unit B002.The four sensors K070, K071, K075, K076 send wheel speed signals respectively to pins 19-20, 7-8, 21-22, 9-10 of control unit M051.Brake pedal switch I030 sends an enablement signal to pin 17 of ABS control unit M051: any intervention of the ABS is excluded unless the brake pedal is pressed. Switch I030 is supplied from the INT line protected by fuse F37 of control unit B002.Pin 16 of M051 sends a discrete speedometer signal to Body Computer M001 (pin 7 of connector A); the same signal is also replicated via the CAN. network.Via the CAN line, control unit M051 is connected (via pins 1 and 2) to engine control unit M010, Body Computer M001 and instrument panel E050, to control the ABS warning light and, if the problems concern the EBD function, the low brake fluid level/handbrake engaged warning light. The self-diagnostic data can be read by connecting to connector C of the Body Computer M001 (pin 1): it receives signals from pin 6 of M051 via the special diagnostic K line.    See E8010 DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR
