Whenever repairs are carried out on the rear suspension that require the front or rear wishbone geometry (toe in and camber) adjustment bolts to be loosened, it is absolutely necessary to check the rear suspension angles

Op. 4450A40 REAR WHEEL GEOMETRY - CHECK USING OPTICAL EQUIPMENT, INCLUDES ADJUSTMENT IF NECESSARY

In the following procedure the removing-refitting of the left front track control arm is described, carry out the same operations for the right front track control arm.

- Position the vehicle on a lift. Op. 4450B02 LEFT FRONT WHEEL - R.R Op. 4420A40 L/H OR R/H REAR SUSPENSION COIL SPRING (ONE) - R+R1. Place a hydraulic jack undernearth the rear wheel stub axle.2. Undo the bolt (2a) and disconnect the rear suspension front track control arm (2b) from the rear wheel stub axle.

Raise the hydraulic jack until the fixing bolt is released without effort.

3. Undo the bolt fixing the rear suspension front track control arm to the crossmember.4. Remove the rear suspension front track control arm.

Take care over the fitting position of the rear suspension front track control arm and the fixing bolts.

Refitting ( Removing

) 1. Place the rear suspension front track control arm in its housing and secure it using new bolts without tightening them.2. Remove the hydraulic jack from undernearth the rear wheel stub axle.

Op. 4420A40 L/H OR R/H REAR SUSPENSION COIL SPRING (ONE) - R+R Op. 4450B02 LEFT FRONT WHEEL - R.R- Place the vehicle in design conditions Op. 4450A40 REAR WHEEL GEOMETRY - CHECK USING OPTICAL EQUIPMENT, INCLUDES ADJUSTMENT IF NECESSARYto tighten the bolts fixing the rear suspension front track control arm.

This operation is designed to prevent torsional pre-loading of the flexible bushes.

1. Tighten the new bolts (1a) and (1b) fixing the rear suspension front track control arm to the recommended torque.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.
