) - Remove the upper engine protective cover.- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Op. 5530B10 BATTERY - R+R Op. 5530B52 BATTERY SUPPORT/DRIP TRAY - R.R Op. 7055B54 UNDER ENGINE PROTECTION/GUARD - R.R. Op. 5520B10 STARTER MOTOR - R+R- Place the starter motor on the bench.1. Undo the fixing nut (1a) for the electrical connection (1b).

1. Undo the three fixing bolts (1a) for the solenoid coil (1b).

1. Extract the solenoid coil (1a) and keep the internal spring (1b).

1. Turn the moving part of the solenoid and extract it from the starter motor casing.

1. Undo the two bolts (1a) fixing the motor to the support flange (1b).

1. Extract the motor complete with activating fork (1a) and rubber mounting (1b) from the support flange.

1. Dismantle the activating fork assembly. Using a drift, push the seal (1a) towards the gear to access the circlip (1b). Extract the circlip (1b) and the seal (1b) from the shaft (1c).

1. Undo the two fixing bolts (1a), remove the motor rear cover (1b), the fork (1c) and the washer (1d) and extract the cover (1e).

1. Extract the blade carrier plate.

Refitting ( Removing

) - Check that all the starter motor components are not damaged.- Fit the blade carrier plate.- Refit the blade carrier plate cover, the washer and the fork and secure the motor rear cover using the two fixing bolts.- Reassemble the activating fork assembly and fit it in place on the motor.- Refit the motor complete with activating fork and rubber mounting on the support flange for the motor and secure using the two fixing bolts.- Fit the moving part of the solenoid on the starter motor casing, rotating it appropriately.- Fit the spring and the solenoid coil and secure it using the three fixing bolts.- Connect the electrical connection for the solenoid and fasten it using the nut.
