194001596 - E5010 STARTING AND RECHARGING - OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION
Ignition device H003 is supplied by a direct battery line protected by fuse F32 of supplementary under-dashboard junction unit B002.Steering lock control unit M089, supplied by a direct battery line protected by fuse F3 of engine compartment junction unit B001 - pin C1 -, receives the following signals according to the rotation of the key in ignition device H003:- at pin A6, key inserted signal (TEG_IN);- at pin B5, the key ON signal (TEG_MAR);- at pin C5, the first start-up signal with the key turned to START (TEG_Crank1);- at pin C6, the second start-up signal with the key turned to START (TEG_Crank2);Ignition device H003 - pins 1 and 2 - communicates whether or not it has recognised the TEG when it is inserted in the reader via the CAN network to Body Computer M001 - pins 24 and 25 of connector H.Similarly, with the key ON, control unit M089 - pins A2 and A3 - of M089, con chiave in posizione ON, notifies the Body Computer of the request to forward the +15 signal to the system. Once the TEG has been recognised (Immobilizer function) and power line distribution has been permitted (INT, INT/A, 15/54), steering lock control unit M089 is enabled for start-up.The signal indicating the correct position of the gear lever (PARK) is sent from automatic transmission control unit M055 (pin 5 of connector A) to pin B4 of steering lock control unit M089. See E7050 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION See E7065 ELECTRIC STEERING LOCKPins C7 and C4 of steering lock control unit M089 receives positive signals relating to the pressure of brake pedal I030 (from contacts NC and NA of the brake). When the key is turned to START at the same time, pin B8 of steering lock control unit M089 sends a +50 signal to the winding of ignition motor electromagnet winding A020 (pin 50, connector C).Pin 30 (connector A) of A020, i.e. the actual motor, receives a power supply with the voltage coming directly from the battery A001.The continuous current produced by the alternator A010 (pin B+ connector B) is sent to the battery A001, passing through starter motor A20 (pin 30, connector B).When the alternator A01 is not turning and therefore not recharging the battery, an earth signal is sent from pin D+ (connector A) to the Body Computer M001 - pin 19 of connector A: this is connected via the CAN network to instrument panel E050 and causes the alternator fault warning light to light up on the panel.
