Proceed as follows on the injector presumed to be faulty.
STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Turn the ignition key OFF.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector BTurn the ignition key ON.Check that the resistance between Earth and:

  • Pin 16 of the control unit for injector 1
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 2 of the control unit for injector 2
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 1 of the control unit for injector 3
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 17 of the control unit for injector 4
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 18 of the control unit for injector 5
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITis less than 0.3 V
Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
2Turn the ignition key OFF.Check that the resistance between Earth and:

  • Pin 16 of the control unit for injector 1
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 2 of the control unit for injector 2
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 1 of the control unit for injector 3
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 17 of the control unit for injector 4
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 18 of the control unit for injector 5
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITis greater than 500 kOhmMove on to Step 6
Move on to Step 3
3Disconnect the cable loom connector from the injector.Check that the resistance between Earth and:

  • Pin 16 of the control unit for injector 1
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 2 of the control unit for injector 2
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 1 of the control unit for injector 3
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 17 of the control unit for injector 4
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 18 of the control unit for injector 5
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITis greater than 500 kOhm
Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
4Check that the resistance between Earth and:

  • Pin 47 of the control unit for injector 1

  • Pin 31 of the control unit for injector 2
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 46 of the control unit for injector 3
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 33 of the control unit for injector 4
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 48 of the control unit for injector 5
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITis greater than 500 kOhm
Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
5Replace the injectorThe test can be considered over

  • Pin 1 and 46 of the control unit for injector 3

  • Pin 17 and 33 of the control unit for injector 4
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT

  • Pin 18 and 48 of the control unit for injector 5
    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNITis greater than 500 kOhm
Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring of the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
7Check that the resistance between pin 1 of the injector    See N070 INJECTORand:

  • Pin 18 of the control unit for injector 5

9Check that the resistance between pin 1 and 2 of the injector    See N070 INJECTORis between 0.3 and 0.7 OhmReplace the injector
10Carry out a visual check on the condition of the injector and connector pipes to ensure it is okayReplace the faulty component
