194001355 - E2031 REAR FOG LIGHTS - DESCRIPTION

The vehicle is equipped with two very bright rear fog lights located in the tail-lights (mobile part on the boot). The fog lamps are activated by pressing a one-position switch on the left exterior lighting panel. When the fog lights are on, an associated warning light lights up on the control panel.Rear fog light activation is controlled by the Body Computer. The function requires the following conditions to be activated:- enablement signal when key inserted and turned ON in the ignition (INT);- control signal from the one-position key on the left panel;- dipped beam or fog light activated signal. If the dipped headlights and fog lights are deactivated, the fog lights are turned off even if the operating key is active. If the above enablement signals are re-activated, the function stays off until a new command is received from the dedicated key.If the key is turned OFF and/or removed from the ignition device (STOP position) and then reinserted and turned ON, the operating key must be re-pressed to activate the rear fog lights. The rear fog light check function ensures the lights are operating correctly. The function monitors the following for each circuit:- circuit open or bulb missing;- closed circuit to earth (bulb s.c. or wiring s.c. to earth);- short circuit to Vbatt (wiring s.c. to Vbatt). When one of the above situations occurs, the Body Computer makes the fault status available via the CAN network: the "exterior lighting fault" warning light lights up on the instrument panel and the information is simultaneously shown on the display.
