The diasbling warning light is on and the passenger Air Bag is not excluded by the control switch
1CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Connect the EXAMINER diagnostic equipment and check the following at the AIR BAG NODE:

  • No system/component errors
  • Plausibility of disabling command
Move on to Step 2System/components faultyContinue following the instructions for the diagnostic equipment

Check the continuity and insulation of the wiring between the control switch in the dashboard on the passenger side and the Air Bag control unit    See E7030 AIRBAGMove on to Step 3Switch wiring short circuited or open circuitReplacing wiring.
3CONTROL SWITCH CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check that the switch in the dashboard on the passenger side is working properly by carrying out the Test    See Test 5580CG PASSENGER BAG DISABLING SWITCH CHECKMove on to Step 4Switch not workingReplace the passenger air bag disabling switch    Op. 5580C26 PASSENGER AIR BAG DISABLING KEY LOCK BARREL/SWITCH - R.R.
4ACTIVE DIAGNOSIS CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
With the Examiner in Instrument Panel Node mode, check that the passenger air bag warning light is correctly activated in Active Diagnosis.Move on to Step 51. The Air Bag warning light does not operate correctly1. Replace the Instrument Panel    Op. 5560B10 CONTROL PANEL - R+R
2. The warning light operates correctly2. Replace the Air Bag control unit    Op. 5580C14 AIR BAG ECU - R+R
