194003076 - E5020 ENGINE COOLING - DESCRIPTION

The engine radiator and air conditioner condenser cooling system consists of a radiator prewired system interfaced with the engine service lead, including relay boxes, resistors and on fan operated at three different speeds according to the engine coolant temperature and air conditioner coolant pressure levels. The temperature sensor on the thermostat and the electrical coil controlled by the engine control unit for advance opening of the thermostat and a temperature sensor on the radiator outlet sleeve are interfaced with the engine prewiring. The engine control unit receives signals managed by sensors (temperature sensor on the thermostat, radiator output temperature sensor and linear sensor), which inform the engine control of the cooling circuit status.Based on internal sensor rules, which are also linked to other parameters, namely: engine rpm, load conditions, gear engaged and outdoor temperature, the engine control excites or deactivates the electrical coil on the thermostat for advance opening of the thermostat and, if necessary, manages fan activation. The supply line for the fan is protected by a special fuse, located in the engine compartment control unit.
