194001381 - E2510 COURTESY LIGHT - DESCRIPTION (POWERED SUNROOF)

The front courtesy light includes three lamps with three control switches:- the corresponding spot light can be switched on using external switches;- the centre switch can be used to switch the centre light on or off and the switching on is also subject to a delay timer as described below. The centre rear courtesy light has two bulbs that can be switched on or off by operating the switch or, with a timed delay, as described later on.The front courtesy lighting is managed by the Body Computer, that for the rear lights is managed by the door control units. The timed delay is managed by the Body Computer via the CAN according to the following strategy:- when any of the front or rear doors is opened, a delay timer is activated for the courtesy lights for a time of 3 minutes and is reactivated each time one of the doors is opened;- when all the doors are shut: in key off conditions, the 3 minute delay timer is zeroed and a 10 second one is activated; in the key on condition the courtesy lights are switched off immediately;- when the key is extracted from the ignition, the courtesy lights come on for a timed period of 10 seconds;- when the doors are unlocked (by the remote control, pawl in the driver''s and passenger door or by the FIS) the courtesy lights come on for a timed period of 10 seconds, interrupted if the ignition key is turned ON;- during the locking of the doors (by the remote control or the pawl in the driver''s or passenger door), all the courtesy lights go out;- when the inertia switch (FIS) is operated, the courtesy lights come on for a period of 15 minutes; if the FIS is reset, the courtesy lights go out.The switching on and off of the courtesy lights should take place simultaneously if more than one of them is involved and the process should be gradual (dimmer) with the cycle lasting 2 seconds. The dimmer time of 2 seconds is always added to the times described previously, for both switching on and switching off. The gradual switching on/off should not be interrupted under any circumstances (not even after another door is opened, a key on, etc.).The activation of the front and rear courtesy lights is also managed by the unstable button on the front courtesy light, in particular:- with the courtesy lights off, both are switched on;- with the courtesy lights on, both are switched off (even with the FIS activated). In the case of the timed activation of the courtesy lights when the door is opened, pressing the button on the front courtesy light causes the interior lights to be switched off and the resetting of the timed delay in progress. With the key in the OFF position or extracted, when all the doors are closed a timed delay of 10 seconds is activated. The timed delay for the courtesy lights with activation by the button on the front courtesy light is 15 minutes with the key in the OFF position or extracted. There is no timed delay with the ignition ON.The front and rear spot lights are activated by a local control and have a timed delay of 15 minutes if they are activated with the ignition OFF, whilst there is no timed delay if they are activated with the ignition ON. The activation/deactivation using the local control does not involve a dimmer. The direct control of the rear spot lights takes precedence over a switching on/off command received on the opening of the door or from the button in the front courtesy light. If the spot lights are switched on indirectly, pressing the local button causes the lamp to be switched off until the next direct or indirect switching on command is received. The power supply for all the courtesy lights follows the battery voltage control logic (SBMT): the Body Computer continuously acquires the battery voltage signal and compares it with its own limit value. With the ignition OFF or the key extracted (STOP), a 15 minute timer starts when any of the doors is opened. The lights are deactivated after this time limit.
