The radio may be equipped with a radio system with a HI FI sound system consisting of:- radio;- wiring (speakers and radio);- speakers on the mirrow triangle (tweeters);- speakers on the front doors (mid-woofer);- speakers on the rear door panel (tweeter);- speakers on the rear doors (mid-woofer);- radio amplifier with a sub-woofer speakers, located in the boot compartment on the right;- AM/FM aerial coaxial cable;- aerial mount and stemWith this sound system, the operation of the speakers (tweeter and mid-woofer) is managed directly by the amplifier/subwoofer system to achieve outstanding sound in any part of the passenger compartment.In this configuration, the radio is one node of the CAN network through which it exchanges information with the Body Computer and the other electronic units to supply the customer with a set of functions, namely:- automatic deactivation 20 minutes after Key-OFF to safeguard the battery;- control of radio display dimmed lighting with side lights on;- speed dependent volume control (SVC);- steering wheel controls (where specified).The radio is available in two different versions according to customer requirements and may be fitted with a conventional CD or an MP3 CD (compressed files).The radio is equipped with a safety system with a 4-figure identification code on a card that is given to the customer when a vehicle fitted with an original equipment radio is collected.The above code must be entered whenever the battery is disconnected to prevent it being reused on another vehicle.It is also possible to fit a multi-polar cable connecting the radio to a CD changer that may be fitted in the passenger side glove compartment.This configuration includes wiring for a mobile phone with handsfree kit.Some versions are equipped with radio controls on the steering wheel (6-key version): these make it possible to replicate some of the analogue commands received by the radio.
