194001762 - E7060 TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION
The tyre pressure monitoring system consists of:- 4 RF pressure sensors located inside the tyre on the wheel rim;- 4 sensors fitted on each wheel arch;- 1 RF management and reception electronic control unit in the passenger compartment. The pressure sensors continuously monitor the correct inflation of the tyres: if a fault or a loss in pressure is detected, the sensor transmits a message via RF to the receiver control unit. The control unit sends the Body Computer, via the serial line, the information relating to the pressure and the monitoring of the system; the Body Computer, in turn, forwards these signal via the CAN allowing the display in the instrument panel of signals relating to: general failure warning light and signalling system failures and insufficient tyre pressure in the display. The control unit supply lines are protected by fuses in the junction unit under the dashboard.
